Once you got over the muck there were a lot of positives to take from 2012’s chapter of Cork’s burgeoning go-to mini musicfest. With Oxegen being cancelled this year and the fear that the Picnic is going to be a big sell out this year the smaller festival has appealed to a lot of folk and there was a bumper crowd at this year’s event.
It was a wet and wild weekend that delivered plenty of highlights including a rousing set from Jape and a rollicking runthrough from Japanese popstars. The Ever reliable Frank and Walters gave a typically robust set on the main stage on the Saturday night before a headline showing by the immense crowdpleasers that are 2many DJ’s. The stalwarts of the Irish festival scene Delorentos rounded off proceedings on the mainstage on the sunday night. Whatever your taste from thumping house to indie guitar there was something to get your wellies bopping.
All in all a good weekend was had by all and 2013 promises to bring a lot of bodies down Mitchelstown way.
