After 15 years and four albums, Cork band Fred have decided to call it a day.
“We have enjoyed our time making music together immensely but simply it’s now time for us to move on,” a band statement read.
“We would like to thank all our fans, friends, families who have supported us over the years.
“We also offer a big thank you to all of the artists who we have had the pleasure of sharing stages with and the all of the venues who continue to promote live music.”
Fans of the band will have a last chance to see the group as they play a number of farewell around the country in December.
The four-piece will be playing in Whelans, Dublin on Thursday, December 5, De Barras, Clonakilty, Co Cork on Friday, December 13 and Sunday, December 15 in Róisín Dubh, Galway.
“Our final show ever will be in The Pavilion, Cork on Saturday December 28 where there is a distinct possibility that we will have every member of the band past and present on stage together, at the same time, simultaneously.
“We will also be joined by some friends whom we have played with many times over the years.”
